UAE Extends Phase 1 E-Invoicing ASP Appointment Deadline to 30 October 2026

The UAE Ministry of Finance (MoF) has extended the deadline for Phase 1 businesses to appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) — from 31 July 2026 to 30 October 2026. The change gives large businesses more time to select a provider, but the mandatory go-live date remains 1 January 2027.

What changed

Under Ministerial Decision No. 66 of 2026 — which amends Ministerial Decision No. 244 of 2025 — the Phase 1 ASP appointment deadline moves from 31 July 2026 to 30 October 2026. The MoF made the change following a review of market readiness and feedback from taxpayers on pricing, provider availability, and technology options.

Who this affects

Phase 1 applies to businesses with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more. Only the appointment deadline for this group has moved. The Phase 2 (SMEs) and Phase 3 (government entities) ASP appointment deadlines of 31 March 2027 are unchanged.

What has not changed

The mandatory go-live date for Phase 1 remains 1 January 2027. The additional time applies to appointing an ASP — not to implementation. From go-live, all B2B and B2G transactions must flow through the UAE Electronic Invoicing System via an accredited ASP.

Why you should not wait for October

Appointing an ASP is the first step, not the last. Integration with your ERP or accounting system, mapping to the PINT AE format, testing, and EmaraTax onboarding all take time. Appointing early — well before 30 October 2026 — de-risks your 1 January 2027 go-live and avoids a year-end rush.
